Tilburg heeft er vanaf 17 mei een grote culturele trekker bij, van internationale allure. In het gebouw van het oude postkantoor aan de Spoorlaan gaan dan de gates van Doloris open. Een immens, surrealistisch doolhof enerzijds (de Meta Maze), ontstaan vanuit de clubscene in Berlijn. Met daarboven een gigantische rooftopbar waar je kunt eten en drinken. This Is Our House kreeg exclusief de kans om voor de opening een podcast op te nemen in Doloris. Huisbaas Mark van Bergen bezocht de rooftopbar en ging uitgebreid in gesprek met het creatieve brein achter de Meta Maze en de producer van de Doloris-soundtrack (waarvan je ook delen kunt horen). En daarna dook hij het doolhof in, om zichzelf te verliezen in een unieke ervaring…
Doloris’ Meta Maze is een ‘climb-through’ art experience van 400 vierkante meter, bomvol kunst. Met circa 40 ervaringskamers is het labyrinth de enige ‘immersive art experience’ van dit formaat in Europa en qua vorm uniek in de wereld.
Voor onze circa 30 minuten durende podcast interviewde Mark onder meer creatief leider Tim Henrik Schneider. Hij vertelt over de succesvolle voorganger van de Meta Maze, die verrees in club Zur Wilden Renate in Berlijn, en over de filosofie achter het labyrinth.
Ook gaat hij in op de totstandkoming van het immense project in Doloris Tilburg. Samen zijn team van het Berlijnse kunstenaarscollectief Karmanoia werkte hij bijna 10 maanden aan de Meta Maze.

On May 17th, a big cultural attraction of international fame sees the light in Tilburg. In the building of the old post center at the Spoorlaan, the gates of Doloris will open. An immense, surrealistic labyrinth on the one hand (Meta Maze), with roots in Berlin club culture. And, above it, an enormous rooftopbar for drinks and food. In advance of the opening, This Is Our House exclusively got the opportunity to make a podcast in Doloris. Our chief Mark van Bergen visited the rooftopbar and had an extensive conversation with the creative mastermind behind the Meta Maze and with the producer of the Doloris soundtrack (of which you can hear parts as well). And after that, he took a dive into the labyrinth, to loose himself in a unique experience…
Doloris’ Meta Maze is a 400 square meter ‘climb-through’ art experience. With some 40 rooms this labyrinth is the only immersive art experience of this size in Europa and unique in its form worldwide.
For our 30 minute podcast Mark interviewed creative head honcho Tim Henrik Schneider. He speaks about the successful labyrinth that came before the Meta Maze, in club Zur Wilden Renate in Berlin, and about the philosophy behind the maze.
Also, he looks back on the realisation of the immense project in Doloris Tilburg. Together with his team from Berlin art collective Karmanoia, he worked on the Meta Maza for almost 10 months.
